Mother's Day 2011

May 8, 2011

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s and “Mr. Mom”s out there!   Mothering (parenting) is a tough job and it is great to pause today and acknowledge the contributions of mothers to our physical, social and spiritual development.

Thanks, Mom!

Actually, every day is mother’s day for Nanobugs, inc because our #1 target audience is Mothers. (surprised?) Mothers are usually the health advocate for the family, they conduct and supervise the housekeeping of the home, the laundry, they prepare meals, select healthy foods for consumption and take responsibility for the kitchen and prevention of foodborne illness, and they nurse family members back to health through infection including the administration of antibiotics.  (This is just part of the long list of infection prevention activities assumed by mothers.)

We feel that mothers often need some practical microbiology to help them manage the family in the area of health promotion and infection prevention.   The Nanobugs characters, the website, and the various nanobugs teaching tools were created to help you achieve success in your function.  The first step is always getting the attention of kids and family members and engaging them in learning.  We hope the nanobugs will help you with that part.

So, “Hats Off” to mothers today and everyday.
